Founded in 2005, Black Lab Security Systems, Inc. has created the next generation of self-defending security software for both enterprise IT and personal computers. BLSS is funded by United States investors, citizens and developers. BLSS' headquarters is located in Howard County's NeoTech Center, a start up incubator for technology companies and is part of Maryland's Center for Technology and Business Development. The NeoTech Incubator was created in 1999 to assist start-up firms in the areas of computer hardware, software development, telecommunications, the Internet and web development. The development and testing "Black Laboratory" where Shadow was developed, written and is continuously tested, is located in Tenneesee.
