With its Latest Celeb Fragrance, Coty Opts for Squeaky Clean |
|
Coty already boasts a portfolio of over 35 designer, celeb & lifestyle fragrances - including David & Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker & J.Lo - and will now be adding the diminutive Australian dance diva to the roster. “Kylie has very high awareness and broad appeal — across age groups and genders,” Bernd Beetz, chief executive officer of Coty Inc., recently told WWD. “We’re very proud of our portfolio and have a nice coverage of target users across the spectrum, feel that Kylie will bring in additional users of all ages with her fan base.” Part of the reason for choosing Minogue is her squeaky clean, scandal-free image which vibes with the new conservatism in fashion & lifestyle. People are dressing up, and cleaning up - their looks, their lives & even their language. "She appeals to three generations of women and men. She is one of the few celebrities who has maintained a positive outlook and escaped scandal," explains Steve Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing for Coty Beauty. "She has also overcome adversity [she is now in remission from breast cancer, according to sources.]” No details about the name of the new women's fragrance or planned advertising were released. The launch is set for fall in Australia, Ireland, and the UK, with Europe & Asia to follow in spring 2007. US distribution is slated for some time after that. |
